Amazon Aurora, Digital Assistant Security & the relationship to the Internet of Things - by Glenn E Howard
Abstract
Recently, there was a significant vulnerability discovered in the underlying infrastructure that drives the Amazon Aurora Voice technology; the implications of this could potentially affect millions of users worldwide. So, what is currently being done to ensure the proactive security of digital assistant technology and how does that security relate to the attack surface of the Internet of Things. Finally, what can users do to mitigate risks to their personal enclaves while utilizing this technology.
Speaker's Biography
Glenn Howard, CISSP is a Senior Cyber Range Engineer with IPSecure Inc at Joint-Base San Antonio, Lackland. As a Range Engineer, he provides expert-level support in the reviewing, planning, coordination, execution, reporting and closeout of projects of special interests to the Air Force and the Joint Operational test community within the DoD; he is also a retired Air Force veteran who served in various leadership roles at the squadron, detachment, brigade, joint special operations and numbered Air Force levels. He has an extensive background in national level intelligence and cyber operations and has conducted offensive and defensive cyber operations around the world.
